Banana Boost Juice Recipe
The Banana Boost Juice Recipe is one of my favorite juice recipes. It has a creamy flavor but isn’t overpowered by the banana. It consists of banana, apple, mango, pomegranate, carrot, spinach, celery, and cucumber. There is no individual ingredient that really stands out, instead you get a unique flavor that is truly a delight to drink. The banana boost juice recipe can be enjoyed for breakfast lunch or dinner and it’s very high in vitamins and nutrients.
I use Chiquita mini bananas instead of the larger bananas for this recipe. Crossed with mango and variety of vegetables, the banana tones are mellowed down to a point where this drink is not sweet or sower but highly flavorful and enjoyable. If you are looking for a juice recipe that is 100% enjoyable then you must try this banana boost juice recipe. On to the recipe!
Banana Boost Juice Recipe
1 small Chiquita Banana
1 Granny Smith Apple
5 Mango Chunks
1 handful of Pomegranate Seeds
2 Full sized Carrots
2 Handfuls of Spinach
2 Celery Stalks
1 Cucumber
I start by juicing the apple and mango first and then move on to the pomegranate seeds and banana. After that I juice the carrots, spinach, celery and then finally the cucumber. I typically juice cucumbers last to push out any other juices that haven’t yet made it out of the juicer. I usually offer substitutions on all my recipes but this banana boost juice recipe should be enjoyed just as it is. But if you can’t get a hold of pomegranate seeds they could be replaced with raspberries as they offer a close similarity.
I would love to hear your reviews of this juice recipe or any alterations you have made to it. This juice is also great when poured over ice and sipped on. If you have a multi-speed juicer, bananas should be juiced at the low to medium setting due to their consistency and texture. Enjoy this recipe and make a comment with your review. As always, make sure to clean your ingredients well and above all else, enjoy your juice!

Thank you – you encouraged me to start juicing. I love this juice!! Juicing has been such a struggle for me not because of the not eating part or the taste of the juices because I like it, but, the whole thing about drinking freshly prepared juice kills me. I’m ALWAYS on the go and most time I don’t have time to prepare, juice and clean the machine. What do you think about me making 2 days batches. I don’t get why there wouldn’t be any nutrients left…where do they go? How much nutrients are left? Isn’t some nutrients better than none?
Can you add water to the mix to add more to the bottle for work as in half or a small cup xx
I have now seen the difference between a blender n a juicer omg n bargin juicer b n m £20 400w brill xx
Do i absolutely need a juicer? i have a great blender that is good as new.
So I am now giving this a go too …. I understand that it is recommended to have 4-6 juices per day is that correct?? And does it matter how often? Cheers
Welcome to JOJ Debbie! Congrats on starting your juice fast! It’s best to have between 4-6 juices per day. Drink one when you feel hungry and you’ll do great! Some people have less, some people have more. Cheers!
I just bought a Nutri Ninja 900 watt blending machine – will that work – or do I need a juicer – Ive heard that juicing takes out the most necessary nutrition.
Is it okay to have this at any time in the day or would you recommend this at a specific time e.g lunch breakfast etc?
I got this website from my pal who informed me
concerning this website and now this time I am visiting this site
and reading very informative content at this place.
my web-site: Dix dodus dindons et quatre coqs coquets : Le trésor des virelangues pdf
Hi do I only need a bleaner and add fruit and veg
I am highly allegeric to all citrus. Any suggestion for a mango substitute?
I have started the 2 week juice fast. I decided to do this because of my bad eating habits, today marks day 5 & luckily i have passed the slight headaches! I still get cravings due to the fact that the people around me eat so unhealthy anyways but i remember why I am doing this… for a better & healthy start! I’m glad i stumbled on this website, its great to see so many recipes & not have to drink the same juice EVERY SINGLE DAY! Thank you so much, i will keep you updated on my journey
Hello!
Im starting my Juicing and I am starting to check out recipes.
I was wondering, does the banana have to be peeled?
Thank you!
Yes Cynthia, the banana should be peeled. Cheers!
I bought a juicer however it says not to use bananas? This recipe sounds wonderful, is there anything I can try or do with the bananas? Should I cut them out?
Casey, you can just leave the banana out. The banana produces such little juice to begin with. It’s more for the slight flavor that it gives but you’ll be fine to leave it out. Cheers!
I am allergic to pomegranate so used the raspberries as suggested. It was delicious!
Awesome Diane! I’ve used raspberries in this one before too and it was delicious! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
i have tried this juice as indicated on recipe and let me tell you the looks of it doesn’t go with taste, it was really good, i had it last night for dinner and this morning for breakfast. i will try replacing the mango with pineapple and see if there is any difference. i am also starting the 7 day juice fast and i will say this banana boost it was a great start for me. thank you..
That’s awesome Rene! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Let me know how it is with the pineapple!
@Alicea nooooo… The purpose of a juicer is to extract the natural juices from fruits/veggies @Joanne for the bananas I would cut them into slices and add along with the other fruits/veggies bit by bit. This will help preserve the juicer. Have fun and enjoy everyone
This recipe is absolutely incredible! THIS is my favorite I thought pina colada was the best then mean green but this is simply delightful! Thx!
Awesome, I’m glad you like it! It really is wonderful isn’t it? Cheers!
Hi I was woundering if it would be ok to use a food processor for juicing? X
No mango I used a pear. It’s all I had. It was the best juice I’ve had so far. Everyone says you can’t juice banana but it worked just fine.
Tried this recipe and used pineapple in place of mango chunks. Gosh, it tasted so great!
Looking forward to trying more of your recipes!
That’s awesome Nicole! Let me know what other substitutions you come up with!
I read in a juicing book that you should not juice bananas, is that true?
Nicole, if that were true I wouldn’t have recipes with bananas here at JOJ. Unless your juicer specifically says not to juice bananas them go for it.
Most higher powered centrifugal juicers will handle them. I wouldn’t suggest using a masticating juicer though.
Make sure you run something heavy like a cucumber or apple after you juice the banana to flush it out.
Enjoy!
I have a masticating juicer since you get a much higher yield of juice. For the recipes with bananas, should i juice everything else and then just blend in a banana? is there anyway for this to work with my juicer?
Sorry Jacki, you won’t be able to run the banana through a masticating juicer. Don’t add it in by blending it either. When you blend something in, it’s the same as eating a solid and will take you out of your fast. The taste you get from the banana is very minimal. I would look at substituting it with something else.
Banana babana whosana bonanza
This recipe shall now also be known as the “Banana babana whosana bonanza”!
Hilarious!
loved this recipe! I exchanged the mango with pineapple and the pomegranate seeds with raspberries and it was delicious!
That sounds really good Lynda! That’s a great substitution and I’ll have to give it a shot! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ll be here if you have any questions.
can you do things like peaches and plums and do u have to take the pit out? Also on apples do you have to core them? I have the Juice Fountain
Chris, you don’t want to juice the pits and you should core your apples. Juicers can’t handle the pits and it’s possible you’ll break your juicer by putting pits in there. Also, make sure you peel the rinds off of fruits. I’m here if you have any questions.
I think your site here is nice, but the information you’re giving to people about banana’s in juicers is incorrect. Not even in a centrifugal juicer should you be putting banana – ever
Some of the models have a Frooji disc where you can put soft fruits and then its possible, but the best thing to do is to blend soft fruits like strawberries, bananas and other berries in the blender then mix with the juice if you do not have a model with this kind of disc.
Jennifer, I’m sorry you feel juicing bananas with a centrifugal juicer is an impossibility. It’s best to read the manual that comes with your juicer and if it clearly states to not juice bananas, then those instructions should be followed. I agree it’s more efficient to blend a banana but that defeats the purpose of a juice fast as you’re not to include solids into your diet. When you’re on a juice fast it’s important that you are not including solids of any kind whether blended or not. However, when you come off of your juice fast, smoothies and other blended juices are a great way to ease back into solids.
Not all juicers are equal and I understand why you think bananas should not be juiced. While you won’t get much out of a banana, it does add a little creamy flavor to most juices. I suggest you give it a try Jennifer. I usually run a juicy fruit afterwards to flush out the banana. Give it a try Jennifer. Thank you for your input.
Just tried this for my first juice. The celery flavor was a bit intense. Any ideas how I can tame it down? Another question, how does one determine the percent of veggies vs. fruits on a juice? Thanks for your help.
Karen, if the celery was too much either remove it all together or cut back on it. I always lay out my veggies/fruits as you can see in the pictures. I put the fruits to the right and the veggies to the left. You can judge by looking if you have a good percentage of veggie to fruits. I’m here if you have any questions.
Can I use theses recipes on the detox plan?? Or not.
Thanks.
Emma, you can use any recipes you like on your juice fast. Enjoy!
I would love to do a juice fast but I am a flight attendant and travel a lot? Any ideas for on the road?
Sandy, you can make your juices and bring them with you. Also, see if there are any juice bars in the airports. Keep me posted, I’m always here if you have questions.
I usually fly four day trips are they good for that long if I keep them on ice. Also can they be frozen?
Sandy, they can be frozen. I wouldn’t suggest you keep a juice for that long without freezing it. I would have concern as I’ve never kept a juice that long. You would want to make sure you use a nice masticating juicer as it will help to preserve the juices longer.
Hi!
I just finished day two of the 7 day juice fast and I’m doing ok so far (even though the cat food is starting to look a bit appealing at feeding time…)
I haven’t experienced any headaches or anything strong cravings yet. Am I doing something wrong? Been following the recipes as they are.
I work from home so I’m not as active as most people, I guess.
Almost had a cashew/banana milk made in a blender but wised up just in time…
Will attempt juicing some banana in the morning.
I usually make all my drinks for the day in the morning to save time, so I just pick up a bottle from the fridge when I feel hungry. Does that make the fast less efficient?
Ps. Thanks for all the great recipes. Although I must admit I chug them all down in a minute 😉
Ragni, congrats on day 2 and keep it up! Not everyone will experience headaches and other symptoms. It really depends on how healthy you are and how much will power you have. Most of the headaches are due to caffeine withdraw. Keep on doing what you’re doing and it will pay off! You can make your drinks in the morning but it’s best to make them and drink them fresh so you don’t lose any nutritional value. I’m here if you have questions. Keep me posted on your fast.
Hi, is it ok to add water to the juce ?
Hi could you just have one flavour of juice say the banana boost every day
Ruth, sorry for the delay in my response. My spam catcher caught your comment along with nearly 100 others as spam. I’m working to resolve the issue.
You sure can have just one flavour of juice if that suits you. I suggest you try out a few different ones but if you’re set on 1 particular recipe then go for it. I include a variety of produce in each of the recipes so you’ll be fine. I’ll be here if you have any questions.
Thanks I’m going to start this tomorrow x
You’re welcome Ruth, glad you plan on starting your juice fast. I’ll be here if you have questions.
Hey there! How much juice do you usually get from the banana? Does it ever clog your juicer? Thanks and happy juicing!!
Never mind!! I just saw where you answered that question above
Kristin, thanks for your comment. I don’t get much out of a banana, barely enough to flavor the juice. Some juicers can’t handle it and they do get clogged so be careful. I’ll be here if you have any questions! Happy Juicing!
My juicer says that i cannot put in bananas (or avocados) because it wont create juice so its a waste? Any advice?
Liz, if your juicer says not to, then don’t do it. You don’t get much out of the banana, just enough to taste it. I find that most higher powered juicers can handle a banana. Anything above 700 watts should be able to handle it. If you do try it, start with just a half of banana and add it in before you add your cucumber. If it doesn’t juice it, it usually just clogs up the screen or shoots it all into the bin. What kind of juicer do you have?
This is my most favorite recipe. Absolutely delicious. Yum
I’m glad you enjoy it Maryann, it’s my favorite also!
Hi Donnie,
I plan to start my juice fast tomorrow. I have a question about juicing bananas. I have a Jack Lalanne juicer and the manual says that bananas should not be juiced. Can I juice the other veggies and fruits and then place the juice and banana slices in my NutriBullet to mix? Thanks
Karimah, if your juicer tells you not to juice bananas, then don’t juice them. Not all juicers can do a banana. Also, you can’t use your nutribullet. The nutribullet would just blend it into your juice. There would be no difference between that and eating a banana. You can’t have any fiber/solids or it will take you out of your juice fast so be careful.
Hi,
I would want to start a juice fast too but I’m hesitant because I can’t prepare some at work during lunch time. Is it okay if i prepare my juice before I leave the house and drink it for lunch at work? Or does it have a shelf like that I need to consume it before say 2-3 hours once I made the concoction?
Thanks
Jaja, it’s perfectly fine to prepare your juice before you head off to work. The best thing to do is make sure it is in an airtight container and filled to the top. Don’t be afraid to top it off with a little bit of water if you have to. Make sure it’s stored away in a fridge and you’ll be fine. Bring two juices to work just to ensure you have enough. Enjoy!
hi, i want to thank you soooo much for this motivation.
I am on day 2 of my 7 day fast and its been difficult only because im a single mom n i have to cook meals for my three kids n sit n feed them….lol the torture
i have you and your hard work to thank because im finally feeling a little bit of control over my body.
my question is… did you have a hard time when you first started juicing cause i find myself chugging the juice instead of enjoying it? and have you ever used beet leaves when making a juice ?
Thanks for your all your help!
Alexcia, congrats on starting your juice fast! It’s a great move for your health.
I understand what you’re going through. I’m a single dad with two sons so I get to cook for them and take them out to eat while I fast. It’s hard at times but gets easier.
When I first started I would chug my juices and for the most part I still do. I do enjoy them but I find it’s just habit to drink them within a few minutes after I’ve made them. I like my juices as fresh as possible I guess.
As far as the beet greens I’ve juiced them before on occasion but usually just juice the beet. You can juice them if you want but it’s just personal preference whether you do or don’t.
I hope your juice fast goes great! Keep me posted and if there’s anything I can do to help just let me know Alexcia!
Hey,
This sounds lovely but im not sure about the seeds??? Is there a reason for them (certain health propertys) or can they be left out?
thank you x
Lisa, what about the pomegranate seeds are you not sure about? Pomegranate seeds are the fruit of the pomegranate and are very nutritious and healthy. Let me know what you’re not sure about so I can help clear it up for you. Also, you could replace them with raspberry if you like.
Maybe im just weird, im just not a fan of seeds in any way shape or form, they freak me out haha I see them as bird food. Sorry xx But raspberrys i like! I can get on board with those
Awesome! Just know that the actual seeds don’t get juiced and you don’t eat the seeds. The pomegranate fruit is packed around each individual seed. That’s why you use the seeds. No way around it if you use pomegranate. Much easier to juice them. The seeds themselves don’t make it into your juice. they get caught in the screen or tossed in the pulp catcher. But the flavor is fantastic! You could also use POM pomegranate juice.
Ahh ok! Great! Ill try them. Thank you, and can i just say, 10 out of 10 for customer service!!!!
Such quick replies xxx
Glad to help Lisa! Enjoy!
I was always told you could not juice bananas is the true or just certain juicers. I have the Huron juicer.
Veleda, some juicers can and some juicers can’t. Even the ones that can don’t get much but just enough to taste it. I wouldn’t do it with a masticating juicer. Worst it can do is clog up the juicer and you’ll have to clean it. Give it a shot.
Hi Donnie,
I am starting juicing tomorrow as soon as my juicer arrives! I am doing a lot of reading up on the fast. This recipe is particularly interesting as I can’t imagine getting juice out of a banana. I purchased a Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt. Do I push the small banana with the pomegranate seeds through at the same time? Is that the idea? It won’t clog my juicer, right? I am excited and can’t wait for the juicer to arrive!
Congrats Leah! You don’t get very much out of a banana. But the little bit you do get out gives the juice a real creamy flavor. Just do the banana by itself on high speed. Some juicers can handle them and some can’t. I’m sure your Breville will be able to handle it. If by chance it does get clogged, then just clean it out and proceed to juice. I’m here if you have any questions Leah.
My boyfriend and I are tryin a detox for seven days. We have experience very bad headaches even though it’s our second day. How many glasses of juice are we suppose to drink each day. He is on Vaction and I have to work.
Shaun congrats on doing a 7 day juice fast. It seems like you are just experiencing detox symptoms. That’s good, that means your body is in detox. Symptoms usually last between 3-5 days. You should be having between 4-6 juices per day with each being between 16 and 20 ounces. Please read more on the Juice FAQ. http://www.justonjuice.com/juicing-faq/ I’ll be here if you have any questions!
I find that sometimes if you squeeze a slice of lime or lemon on top before serving, it can really freshen up the taste ! You know, for those who are new to drinking green veggie juice!
That’s a great idea for veggie heavy drinks and people new to juicing Carolyn! Thanks for you input
Hi! I just started to make juice in the last week or so. In looking for a recipe that had carrots and mango (my menu is usually subject to whatever I bought at the store that week, I came across your recipe. It was very good! My husband is not a huge celery fan, so we may omit that next time – but, it really is delicious. Thank you! I think we may make this frequently.
Laura, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. This recipe is my favorite and it’s good at all times of the day. Happy Juicing!
Sounds good, I’m starting my juice detox/cleanse this week, and I found your site and got some great recipes, Thank you. Oh, I didn’t know I could juice a banana?
Thanks Sidra, I’m glad you found the site helpful. You can juice a banana if you have a centrifugal juicer although I wouldn’t suggest trying to juice one with a masticating juicer. It’s really good and ads a little bit of a creamy taste to your drinks. Enjoy, and feel free to post your start date in the forums under group fasts please! Thanks!
We have a masticating juicer, so should we mix the juiced mixture and banana in a blender?
I wouldn’t mix the whole banana. I would start by mixing only a slice or two, tasting it and adding as you feel necessary. You don’t want to add too much banana since the blender will keep all the fibers from it. I hope you enjoy it
This recipe sounds delicious!
I’m always on the lookout for new and creative ways to juice. I can’t wait to try this out for myself. I’ll let you know how it goes
Kristen, this is my favorite! Let me know how you like it. Thanks
