Banana Pie Juice RecipeBanana Pie Juice Recipe

Banana Pie Juice Recipe

This is a great Banana Pie Juice Recipe that well, tastes like bananas. This is a very good morning breakfast juice that will not only fill you up but give you jolt in the early morning before work. The recipe calls for a Banana, an apple, some mango, some strawberries, a cucumber and an inch of fresh ginger. It has a sweet taste, but not overly sweet as the banana calms down the other juices. The ginger ties it all together and really smooths out this recipe. I poured this one over ice and garnished with a mango slice. The juice is a little thicker due to the banana but it’s definitely worth a try if you are having trouble in the mornings or can’t decide on what to juice. This Banana Pie Juice Recipe can be altered by replacing the mango with blueberries, or even substituting two gala apples for the granny smith apple. Experiment with this one and reply with what you came up with so I can give it a review. As always, recipes are like blueprints. You should experiment with substitutions and see how it tastes. Enjoy!

Banana Pie Juice Recipe

1 Banana (Peeled of course)

1 Granny Smith Apple

6-10 Strawberries (More Strawberries equals more tang)

4 Slices of Mango

1 Cucumber

1″ Fresh Ginger Root

I hope you enjoy this recipe. Please comment with likes, dislikes, questions, or how you modified this recipe. All produce here was organic or bought straight from the farmers market fresh produce. I prefer to buy organic, and yes, you can tell a difference between organic and not organic when you are juicing. Some times you won’t be able to buy organic but if you can, you should. Make sure to clean and rinse all of your produce before you juice. Do not juice apple cores, and make sure to cut the tops off of the strawberries. Enjoy!

  1. Great to came across this recipe.

  2. Can’t wait to try my hands on this new Banana Pie Juice.

    Thanks :)

  3. Pretty sure juicing bananas is a no go. Blender, yes but juice no.

    • That’s what I thought….is this supposed to be a smoothie or a juice? I’m thinking that you can juice other and then put all in a blender with the banana and blend up.

  4. The juice is really healthy. Its a good intake before starting the day.

  5. Hi

Can I use pink lady apple instead of Granny Smith Apple?

Im gonna start 60 days from Tuesday. Ive ordered my juices which will arrive on tuesday hopefully in the morning so i can start straightaway.

    Feeling very excited about this.

    Thanksss!!!!!

  6. Can I juice a banana? ???

  7. I am allergic to mangos is there something I can substitute for them?

  8. I just made this recipe.. I used a very small amount of ginger but the ginger is still way too overpowering.. Is there something I can add to cut the ginger taste?

  9. What would 4 mango slices be? A whole mango, or half a mango? Also, when using ginger, do you peel it of just juice it as is?

    • Josh, four slices would be about a half of a mango. I don’t peel my ginger, I just cut about a half of thumb size and run it through the juicer. Cheers!

  10. Hi Donnie, I’ve just started a 7 day juice fast and your banana pie juice made my day. Really delicious. Thanks for all your useful tips and support. I’m not sure I’ll make it till the end of the week but I’m trying. Keep you posted! :)

    • Laura, welcome to JOJ! I’m sure you’ll make it to the end of the week! Have confidence in yourself! I wish you all the best! Cheers!

  11. i was wondering if this one is just to sweet or high in calories. I am about to start this 7 day cleanse but am doing this to lose weight. should i just stick with the main ones at the beginning?

    • Matthew, this juice is fine. I wouldn’t drink it all throughout the day though. But having this one in the morning will be fine. Sticking with the ones in the beginning is good but don’t hesitate to experiment or try out different recipes Matthew. That’s half the fun of juicing.

  12. Juicing bananas does not seem to work for me. I get about two drops of liquid from 6 bananas. The juicer just mashes it into sticky pulp, but no juice. A I doing something wrong?

    • Muriel, some juicers cannot handle bananas. I always juice a banana and then follow it up with a cucumber. The cucumber helps push a little more of the banana out. You won’t get tons of juice from a banana but I always get enough to lightly taste it in my juices. Hope this helps.

  13. To add extra flavors can you use banana extracts, or spices like cinnamon or nutmeg?

  14. I do not care for the flavor of ginger. I noticed many of your recipes call for ginger. Is there anything I could replace it with or leave it out all together?

  15. Hi,
I’ve just started the 14 day juice diet and I was just wondering if its okay to have this juice in the morning sometimes? Or do I have to just stick to the ones on the main page for it?

    • Amy, you can have that juice in the morning or every morning if you like it. Don’t be afraid to try recipes or experiment with your own. That’s half the fun and it keeps juicing interesting by always having options. I’m always here if you have any questions Amy.

  16. Hey thanks for the recipes and the tips! I love this one! I’m on day 7 of my 30 day fast and this page has been a great help! I wanted to share a recipe with you. I call “Orange Starbust” because it taste exactly like the candy.
    1 Orange,
    1 gala Apple,
    1/2 of a pineapple
    3 Medium Carrots

    This Recipie is DELICIOUS!!!

Thanks again for your good work.

    • Kyle, welcome to JOJ and congrats on starting your juice fast! Your recipe sounds really good! I’ll have to give it a shot. Thanks! I’m here if you have any questions.

    • I made this and love it! Thanks for the recipe!

    • Sounds good…Do you cut off the outside of the pineapple, or just cut half of it into smaller pieces and feed through the juicer?

      • CK, you should peel off the outer part of the pineapple. My rule of thumb is that if it’s not something edible, then don’t juice it. I usually peel my oranges, lemons, limes, and pineapples.

  17. Can i start with this recipe for starting my juicing diet ? or do i have to start with greens

    • Amy, that is a great morning recipe but due to the higher fruit content I wouldn’t recommend you have this one all throughout the day.

  18. Hi I’ve just made this juice its nice but I am just wondering is it mentioned to be thick or like water?

    • Leanne, it will be a little creamy due to the banana but not a thick creamy and more close to the consistency of water.

  19. i work full time and need to prepare my lunch the night before. what juices would be ok to pre-prepare for lunch and breakfast? can any of these juices be frozen?

    • Louise, while you can prepare them the night before I suggest you get up a little early and prepare your juices in the morning. The juices do lose nutritional value the longer they sit so it’s best to drink them as soon as you can. Any juice will be okay to prep ahead of time. The juices can also be frozen, when you freeze fruits and veggies they hold on to their nutritional value so I assume it would be the same with a juice. One thing I did was to prep each meal the night before and place it in a gallon size ziploc bag. That way in the morning all I had to do was juice them and clean the juicer. Took all of about 15 minutes to do. Keep me posted Louise and I’ll be here if you have any questions.

      • On a different forum, you said to not freeze as it kills the enzymes and looses a lot of nutritional value. Which is it? I’m a little confused. I really would like to be able to freeze them though. I work full time nights, and go to school and it’s so hard for me to get things done.

        • Jamie, I don’t recall saying “not to freeze” but I can say it’s best to have your juices as fresh as possible. If you do freeze know that freezing your juices will preserve them longer but it’s not the best way to do it. You should make your juices in the morning and always store them in airtight containers and keep them in the refrigerator. That may mean waking up a little earlier than you’re used to but it’s well worth it. Keep me posted on your success. I’m always here if you have questions.

  20. I’ve read that I shouldn’t juice bananas because it won’t “juice” that they need to be blended. When I made the recipe, I felt as if I didn’t get any banana? Should I blend it instead?

    • Ella, if you blend you are adding solids and that will take you out of your juice fast. When you juice a banana it’s more so for the added taste. I typically get just a small amount, but enough to flavor the juice. Make sure after you juice the banana that you follow it up with a cucumber to push the remaining juice out. Also, some juicers just can’t handle a banana. If that’s the case you might not be able to juice a banana at all.

      • Bummer! I really wanted to try this recipe this morning! But my juicer booklet tells me not to juice bananas in it. :(

        • It’s best to listen to the manufacturer Rosemarie. I’m sure there are plenty of other awesome recipes for you to try out :)

  21. What would you suggest as a substitution for cucumber? My husband and I are doing the 7- day fast and so far I love it, but he doesn’t like the cucumber. I tried pear and the juice amount was way less, but it was good…. Thoughts?

    • Try Romaine Lettuce or Zucchinis Torie, those are good substitutes for a cucumber. The Romain will also add some more protein to the juices.

  22. Hi Donnie,
You mention subbing blueberries for the mango which is GREAT (I’m really really not a mango fan) so I was wondering why blueberries? Are they a nutritional match? I love to cook, thus am almost a pro at substituting ingredients in recipes, but I don’t want to vary too far off track nutritionally by subbing until I get a better feel for what I’m doing as a new juicer. Any help? Thanks.

    • Trixie, I subbed the blueberries mainly for a different variety in flavors as I could t decide which way I liked it more. The blueberries do add more of a nutritional value ham the mangos though.

      • How many blueberries equal 4 slices of mango? Roughly?

        • I’d say try anywhere between 1/2 cup and a whole cup. As long as your juice tastes satisfying you’ll be good to go JR! I’ll be here if you have any questions.

  23. What does “More strawberries equals more tank” mean???

    • Thank you for pointing out my spelling error Karen, it took me a while to figure it out. “More strawberries equals more tang” is what it’s supposed to say. I’ve corrected it now. Thanks again!

  24. Could this be mixed with greens? I would eliminate the mango

    • Yes, it most certainly can be mixed with greens. If you’re not particular to mango and want more greens, then try replacing it with kale or spinach and let us know how it tastes. Thanks!

  25. I tried something very similar and it tasted great! I will try this on in the morning but I’m sure it will be a blast to try!

  26. Hey there, You have performed an incredible job. I’ll certainly digg it and personally suggest to my friends. I’m confident they will be benefited from this site.
