Juicing Recipes
Juicing recipes are a combination of ingredients used in a juice fast, juice cleanse, or juice detox. There are so many juicing recipes that the list could go on forever. I’ve decided to put a few of the JustOnJuice favorites and fan favorites here on this page for all to try out. Here are a few things to consider when trying out or coming up with your own juicing recipes.
Juicing Recipes – Substitutions
In juicing recipes, it’s okay to substitute certain fruits or vegetables. You may be allergic to one of the ingredients, or you may dislike some of the stronger flavors. You can always substitute juicing recipe ingredients with many other highly nutritious fruits, vegetables, or spices. Here you can find a list of some of the best substitution ideas: Juicing Substitutions
Exact Amounts in Juicing Recipes
You don’t have to follow juicing recipes exactly as they are written. If something calls for 8 spinach leaves and you use 10 it’s not going to harm the balance of your juice recipe. You can adjust the quantities and mixtures for any juice recipes. Some recipes may be heavy on the veggies, its okay to use a half of a lemon instead of just a quarter. Feel free to experiment with ingredients to get the tastes where you want them. Nothing is exact when it comes to juicing recipes.
Nutrition in Juicing Recipes
Juicing recipes are packed and loaded with so many nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. It’s not important to try and count calories in these recipes but it is important to watch your sugar intake. You don’t want to use too much fruit as they contain a great amount of sugar. The best way to keep your recipes on the sugar low is to make sure your juice recipes consist of about 80% vegetables and only 20% fruits. This will ensure you aren’t taking in too much sugar while still getting a ton of nutrition!
How Much Should a Juicing Recipe Contain?
Juicing recipes should contain anywhere from 14-20 ounces of juice by the time you are finished juicing all the ingredients. I always like to juice something like a cucumber last. This way I can ensure I don’t add too much and I can always use more if I find my juices are falling short on quantity. As far as produce and ingredients, it’s a good idea to use a wide variety of them. My typical juicing recipes contain 5 or more different ingredients to ensure I’m getting a good mixture of nutrition in each and every juice I consume.
What Ingredients Should Juicing Recipes Have?
Besides using a variety of ingredients in your juicing recipes, it’s important to make sure your juice always contains a few certain things. Protein is something you should have in every juice! You can get protein from Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Romaine Lettuce, and a few other greens. Protein is important to have not only in your juicing recipes but also in your everyday diet. In fact, hair and nails are mostly made of protein. Your body uses it to build and repair tissue. You need it to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. It is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. You can read more on the importance of protein here: The importance of protein in your diet
Besides protein, juicing recipes should include a healthy balance of other key vitamins which can be found in other ingredients such as apples, lemons, ginger, strawberries, celery, cucumber, and many other leafy greens, fruits, or vegetables.

A whole lot of juicing fun going on here. Just got myself a 600 watt juicer and the Purple Power seems like the best place to start. I will commit myself to each one of these juicer kings for sure. Thanks Donnie!

“Juicing recipes should contain anywhere from 14-20 ounces of juice.” I couldn’t agree more. I like recipes that yield around 20 ounces. As far as ingredients go I like the saying, “Juice your veggies and blend your fruits.” So for juicing, a recipe of mostly veggies and a piece of fruit to sweeten it up. Thanks for a great article! Love your recipes.
Hi Donnie,
I’ve just started juicing and came across your website. I’d love to try some of your recipes as they use most ingredients I enjoy eating in their natural state. Do you list calories contained in each recipe if recipe is followed exactly?
Rose, I do not list calories per recipe as the amounts very depending on the quantity you use and the juicer you use. I wouldn’t worry about going over on your calories as each juice usually contains between 100-200 calories.
Hey Donnie!
Absolutely love your juice recipe collection here. I think too many people leave ginger out of their juices. Basically all my juices have ginger in them because it adds a really nice zing to the juices. Recently, I have tried your Hulk juice recipe which was amazing. I switched it up a little bit, though. Instead of spinach, I used some kale and instead of lemon I decided to go for a lime. It’s a minor change but it tastes just as well. If you could only pick one recipe from this list which one would be?
Keep up the good work!
